Semir Osmanagic Profile

Semir Osmanagic profile picture. Semir 'Sam' Osmanagich is the person who discovered the Bosnian Pyramids in Visoko and established the 'Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun' foundation, which is currently pursuing excavation and geo-archaeological work on the site. Semir Osmanagich has become an expert on the subject by investigating pyramids in China, Mauritius, Canary Islands, Egypt, Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala, Bolivia, Honduras, Mexico, and other countries.

Beginning with some information about Osamagich's educational background, he holds a Ph. D in Sociology of History, a Master of Sciences in International Economics, a B.S. in Political Sciences, a B.S. in Economics, and two years of training in Sociology. All of this post-secondary education was completed at the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia, Herzegovina. He attended elementary and high school in Sarajevo, graduating from 'Druga gimnazija,' or Second Gymnasium high school as a top student in his class.

His Ph. D thesis was conducted on the Mayan civilization, and, today, he teaches Anthropology, with a specialization on Bosnian megalithic sites at the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Click here to view Osmagich's 2011 course syllabus.

Alongside his hobby of investigating pyramids and ancient civilizations, Osmanagich has had a career in business, beginning in the mid 1980's at the United Metal Industry of Sarajevo, where he was working as a research fellow in UNIS-Institute on strategic planning. In 1989, he began his own export-import and construction business in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Split, Croatia called 'Meteorit, Inc.' and 'Meteorit 2, Inc.,' respectively. He now spends time in Houston, Texas of the USA, working as a researcher, resident author, and a businessperson. He began working in the United States as a general manager of a manufacturing company, 'Houston Protectors, Inc.'; after that, he began another business of his own, where he now works today. This company is called 'Met Company Inc.', where he works as the president, and he also owns a holding group, 'Met Holding Group, LLC.'

Osmanagich has written and published ten books in the United States, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, and Turkey about ancient civilizations such as the The Mayan World, Pacific, Mexican, ancient European, Peruvian, and African civilizations. He has travelled extensively to different parts of the world doing research, including and beyond the places listed above. Osmanagich has also received special awards, such as the 'First 'Honorary Citizen' of the Town of Visoko' (2006) and 'Man of the Year 2007 in Bosnia and Herzegovina' for the Pyramid project. He has been admitted to one of the most respected scientific institutions in the world, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, from Moscow, as a Foreign Member. He is also a member of the Archaeological Society of Alexandria.

As Osmanagich's background and experiences show, Semir Osmanagich is an intelligent man who has interests and a hand in many different areas.

Regarding the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids, his first International Scientific Conference took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in August of 2008. Fifty-five leading experts from ten different countries showed up to give full support for his efforts. Since then, he is known as an advocate for archeological tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and holds lectures to promote the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids Project in many different countries.

He has also created a documentary based on his 2005 book, 'Civilizations Before the Official History' for the state Bosnian television, 'FTVBiH,' in 2007. It contains twelve episodes and is called Search for Lost Civilization.'
